About
Laraine is excited to join Main Street Real Estate Partners in providing excellent real estate
services to our community. A life-long resident of Bethlehem, Laraine studied education at
Millersville University and Lehigh University and went on to enjoy a 35-year career in the field.
After 11 years of serving students with disabilities in the K-12 setting, she joined the faculty of
Northampton Community College as Coordinator of Disability Services and worked to provide
accommodations to students with disabilities in higher education. During this time, she
developed and was awarded numerous federal grants that improved the educational
experience for students with disabilities, and, on the lighter side, chaired multiple gala
fundraisers, including the St. Luke’s Ball, the Historic Bethlehem Holiday Auction and Dinner,
along with numerous black-tie fundraisers for NCC. That said, her interest in real estate began
in the late 1970s when she met her husband, Tom Demshock, the owner of Fishburn Realty Co.
Upon her retirement from NCC, she pursued her real estate license and proudly joined Fishburn
as an agent in 2013, putting to work all of the knowledge she gained over the years.
Laraine is delighted to bring the Fishburn legacy of professionalism and service to our
community to Main Street Real Estate Partners. Fishburn’s history, as one of the premier real
estate companies in Bethlehem, started in the mid-1920s when Samuel Fishburn, a Lehigh
graduate, returned to Bethlehem after a brief but interesting career as a professional baseball
player in the Bethlehem Steel League during WW I and then the St. Louis Cardinals. The
Demshock family name became synonymous with Fishburn Realty when Stephen Demshock
joined the firm and eventually purchased Fishburn from Sam. Following the family tradition,
Tom joined his father’s firm in the 1970s and later took the helm of the business, continuing the
strong belief that an independently owned and operated real estate company was the premier
way to meet the real estate needs of both buyers and sellers in our community.
Tom’s retirement in May 2024 led Laraine to make a new choice: joining a new independently owned
and operated real estate firm – Main Street Real Estate Group!
Laraine welcomes both new and former clients to call her for their residential and commercial
real estate needs. She specializes in all aspects of the home buying process and will educate
and guide her buyers and sellers to a successful closing. Bringing forward the Fishburn legacy of
integrity, knowledge, and commitment to her client’s best interests, Laraine remains dedicated
to the Lehigh Valley community.
